Amanda Bynes Arrested
Former actress Amanda Bynes, who has made headlines dozens of times in recent months for erratic behavior, was arrested at her apartment in New York City on Thursday for reckless endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, and physical possession of marijuana, law enforcement authorities confirm
police were called to her Midtown Manhattan West 47th Street apartment following a report that a disorderly person was on the premises. The doorman reported that she was smoking marijuana in the lobby, but when police arrived, she was gone and had retreated to her apartment on the 36th floor.
Officers headed up to her residence and spotted a bong when Bynes opened the door to answer. She allegedly then tossed the bong out the window. Officers reported a "heavy" smell of marijuana in the apartment.
She was then reportedly taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation before heading to a Midtown police station for processing, according to sources.

President Obama says it is a "hard fact" that drone strikes have killed civilians
President Barack Obama has defended
the use of drones in a "just war" of self-defence against deadly militants and a
campaign that had made America safer.
In a wide-ranging speech on a programme shrouded in secrecy, he said there must be "near certainty" that no civilians would die in such strikes.
In a renewed push to shut Guantanamo Bay, he said he had lifted a moratorium on prisoner transfers to Yemen.
Mr Obama also defended the use of drones to kill four US citizens.
"We are at war with an organisation that right now would kill as many Americans as they could if we did not stop them first," he said in Thursday's address at the National Defense University in Washington DC.
"So this is a just war - a war waged proportionally, in last resort, and in self-defence."
Woolwich Murder
The UK's security services face a Commons inquiry after it was confirmed the two men arrested over the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby were known to MI5.
But Communities Secretary Eric Pickles said it was impossible to control everyone all the time.
The suspects are known to be Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale.
Mr Pickles told BBC Breakfast: "Peers and MPs will do a thorough investigation in terms of what the security forces knew but I've seen experts on security explaining how difficult it is in a free society to be able to control everyone."
Drummer Rigby, 25, was murdered on a street in Woolwich, south-east London on Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after the killing, a man, thought to be 28-year-old Mr Adebolajo, was filmed by a passer-by, saying he had carried out the attack because British soldiers killed Muslims every day.
The former head of counter terrorism at MI6, Richard Barrett, told BBC Two's Newsnight programme how hard it could be to detect attacks of the type seen in Woolwich - despite the suspects having been known to MI5 for eight years.
"I assume that these people are probably coming out of a small group without, necessarily, any overseas connections or any other broader connections in the United Kingdom which could come to the attention of the security services more than they did," he said.

Janet Jackson Is a Billionaire
Michael Jackson may be one of the most successful dead celebrities, but his sister Janet (who, of course, is alive and well) is doing pretty well herself. The 47-year-old is officially a billionaire.
According to Variety, Jackson, who is one of the best-selling artists of all time, has earned $458 million thanks to her successful concert tours, $304 million from acting roles in films like "For Colored Girls" and "The Nutty Professor," $260 million in album sales, and more than $81 million from tour sponsorships and licensing fees.
And the "Control" songstress isn't the only billionaire in her household. Jackson secretly married retail tycoon Wissam Al Mana, who's made his fortune investing in the Middle East.
As for fellow celeb billionaires, Jackson joins a club with members including Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, J.K. Rowling, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, whose "Seinfeld" money helped … but whose main fortune came from her dad, billionaire Gerard Louis-Dreyfus, chairman of the Louis Dreyfus Energy Services.
At least Janet can feel good about the fact she earned her billion all by herself.
