Beyonce And Her Beautiful Daughter Blue Ivy

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
Beyoncé and her adorable daughter, Blue Ivy , were photographed together in Paris on Thursday, and they looked relaxed and happy air when out for lunch.
The wife of Jay-Z had left her long hair fall, wore very little makeup and was dressed casually for this ride late afternoon. She has a big smile for photographers, taking her daughter against her.
Of course, an infant 15 months of Jay-Z and Beyonce charms us with her sweet porridge (look at his curls!) In the arms of his mother.
Beyoncé is now happening in concert as part of his world tour titled Mrs. Carter Show, but that does not stop the devoted mother to spend special time with her fabulous girl.
In fact, she recently revealed that she held "absolutely" to have more children and told the magazine Shape : "I surely begin [to try] after this tour."
We look forward to seeing Beyonce with a bun in the oven!

7 Things Married People Won’t Tell You about Marriage

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
In this part of the world, we are more idealists than realists. If we face setbacks in business, we are comfortable with reciting the famous words, “it is well’. If rain soaks you on the way to the office, it’s ‘showers of blessings’ and a promotion is probably on the way. If our right palm itches, it means some long lost relative will send cash soon.
It is no wonder that for many ladies, marriage seems to be the escape from society’s pressures. Many of us fantasize, dream or even start planning a wedding before meeting ‘the one’. Worse still, the romantic movies of heroes falling in love with less than perfect women and sweeping them off their feet in a proposal at the airport, add kerosene to our flame of fantasy. The truth is: idealism is great; but the idealist never knows what to do when the real situation hits hard like a deadly punch from a wrestler’s fist.
Without sounding like a messenger of doom, I will share with you secrets many couples never share about marriage. These are things I have learnt since I got married. I hope you are inspired by it.
The Most Glamorous Part of a Marriage is the Wedding
A gorgeous cake, fresh flowers, wedding gown by Vera Wang, the exotic honeymoon, the paparazzi – all these come into play at the wedding. From the moment the bride wakes up on her wedding day to the moment she spends her first official night as a married woman, she feels on top of the world. Too bad the party can’t last forever.
When you see an elderly couple retaking their marriage vows with tears in their eyes, please note that those are not just tears of happiness; there are tears of a story well told – of joy, pain, courage, sadness and victory against all odds. If you’re not ready to deal with these, it’s not a sin to wait a little. Marriage is hard work and sacrifice.
The Word ‘Sacrifice’ will Suddenly Come up More Often in Your Dictionary
That word we all dread – sacrifice. From the first day, you would find out that you may have to place the needs of others before yours, and if you are blessed with children, get ready for more sacrifices. Will there be times you wish you were single? Yes. Will there be times you wish for one minute to yourself? Definitely. If given the opportunity, would you do it all over again? For most people, YES – especially if you are with the right person.
Marriage is Not for Pretenses or Show-off
Whether you cook with diamonds in your Egusi soup or look like a goddess or even know a thousand styles in bed, a man always knows to whom his heart belongs. The meaning is simple: be yourself before marriage and don’t try to portray what you are not. Let him fall in love with the essence of you not with an image you have created. It’s difficult to fall out of such love except either of you change sometime during the marriage.
You Never Really Know a man/woman Until You get Married
Forget that you two lived in the same house for a few years before marriage, as far as there is no contract binding the two of you together in matrimony, you have not started. People tend to let down their hair when they are married and like an onion, the real us we have kept to ourselves start to unravel. The only thing to do is adjust and move on – you’re in it for real this time.
Marriage is Team Work
Like a job, if you like team work, this role is for you. Just kidding. What I am saying here is that if you don’t work together as a team, you are heading for a major disaster. The unfortunate thing is that you can’t control the other person’s mind and vice versa so one just has to respect the other person’s boundaries, and it’s difficult if both of you are always bent on having your way.
Like a Rollercoaster, There are Ups and Downs
Don’t think that in marriage, every day will be a holiday. You are kidding yourself. In fact, the most ecstatic moments in marriage come after a low period. Like every good story, you will be faced with challenges and tests. Even if you fail one, life will give you an opportunity to repeat the test. But when you pass one, the rewards are priceless.
Marriage is the Ultimate Gamble
Sometimes, marriage leads to happily ever after. Sometimes, it doesn’t. All is fair in love and war. If it doesn’t, dust your feet, learn from past mistakes and start painting a rosy future without giving in to society’s pressures.
Many times, society looks down on divorced women. We are quick to point fingers that it is a woman’s fault that things did not work out. The fact is it could be anybody’s fault. Yes, I know a woman is supposed to be resilient and determined to keep her man, but everyone has their limit of tolerance. We should respect that and not throw stones. If you did not live in their bedroom, try not to judge or place blames. Most times, divorce is the very last option for couples and it is a painful decision to make.
At the end, marriage is about two selfless people living together to achieve each other’s goals. If you find the right person to make that sacrifice with you, you are extremely lucky; as lucky as I am.
Happy Living!

Cancer survivor tattoos over scars left by breast removal

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
Pictures of women posing topless are nothing new on the internet, but the latest snaps to go viral are a little bit different.
These shots show three-time cancer survivor Kelly Davidson showing off her new tattoo which covers her chest – and the scars left by the removal of her breasts.
The 34-year-old Canadian decided to get the elaborate tattoo instead of reconstructive surgery after undergoing a double mastectomy.
Kelly posted pictures of her new ink work – which features a fairy forest and butterflies – on Facebook, writing: "My tattoo symbolizes a transformation, my metamorphosis, like a butterfly I changed on the outside but remained the same on the inside".
Her brave move was warmly received by the web, with messages of support and praise pouring in.
Kelly was first diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 11. She discovered she had breast cancer and had the mastectomy at 28, and four years later she went on to beat thyroid cancer.

Suspected Boston Bomber Charged With Using Weapon Of Mass Destruction

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
Federal prosecutors charged the surviving man suspected of bombing the finish of last week’s Boston Marathon with one count of using a weapon of mass destruction and one count of malicious destruction of property resulting in death, the Justice Department said on Monday.
The charges authorize penalties including death, life in prison or a term in prison for any number of years, the Justice Department said in a statement.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who was seriously injured in a firefight with police before his Friday arrest, was charged in his hospital bed earlier on Monday.
Meanwhile, Tsarnaev has been moved to the custody of the U.S. Marshalls from the custody of the FBI where he was initially detained after he declined to answer bail questions and agreed to a court hearing which was set for 30 May.

Wife of Madagascar’s Ousted President Makes Leadership Bid

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
The wife of Madagascar’s ousted President Marc Ravalomanana has put herself forward to run in July’s presidential election, a move that could be aimed at preparing a comeback by the fallen leader.
The impoverished island nation has been in crisis since Marc Rajoelina, now president, led an uprising that ousted Ravalomanana from office in 2009, triggering turmoil that scared off investors and devastated the vital tourism industry.
Rajoelina, a former disc jockey, said in January he would not run in the vote scheduled for July 24, after he came under pressure from regional powers which had pressed him to stand aside to prevent fresh unrest in this year’s vote.
Ravalomanana, a wealthy businessman now in exile in South Africa, has also agreed not to run again. He was sentenced in absentia to life in prison after he was accused of ordering elite troops to kill Rajoelina’s supporters.
Speaking outside the election court that is accepting nominations, the former president’s wife, Lalao Ravalomanana Rakotonirainy, told reporters: “We give thanks to God. The application is indeed filed.”
She was surrounded by a few hundred cheering supporters outside the court, where 15 other candidates have already submitted their names. The authorities are due to draw up an official list of candidates by May 3.
“As President Ravalomanana cannot stand in the presidential election, his wife is our natural candidate,” Mamy Rakotoarivelo, member of parliament and former close associate of Ravalomanana, told Reuters ahead of the submission.
“It should allow us to regain the power that was seized in an illegal manner.”
Critics say the presidential bid could be an attempt by Ravalomanana to make a return to politics by the backdoor.
“It is a trick of Marc Ravalomanana,” said political commentator and author Toavina Ralambomahay, saying his wife had no political experience but could still win with the backing of Ravalomanana’s supporters.
“It could prepare the return of her husband,” he said.
Rajoelina led demonstrations against Ravalomanana in early 2009, accusing him of political repression and criticizing his plans to lease tracts of land to the Korean company Daewoo.
A general strike in the capital turned into deadly protests before the army stepped in and backed Rajoelina.
Countries from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) brokered a deal in September 2011 that confirmed Rajoelina as president and allowed for the unconditional return of Ravalomanana from self-imposed exile in South Africa.
But the plan has been beset by disagreements, including over whether Ravalomanana should be imprisoned if he returns home. SADC leaders urged both men not to stand in the election.
The first round of the presidential election is scheduled for July 24 and the second round, coupled with a legislative vote, is set for September 25.

2015 Election: You Have 7 Days To Apologise To Akpabio, Politicians Warn

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
The Chairmen of the 10 local government areas in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district of Akwa Ibom, have handed down a 7-day ultimatum with effect from the 24th of April 24, 2013 to Senator Alloysius Etok, to retract his statement on stalling the nomination of Governor Godswill Akpabio, as the aspirant for the senatorial district in the 2015 general elections.
The chairmen stormed the state office of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Uyo, the state capital, where they condemned the Senator’s recent statement that the senatorial seat is not vacant.
Senator Etok is currently representing Ikot Ekpene senatorial district in the National Assembly and the state governor who is rounding off his second term in office, an exclusive interview that he will be running for the Senate in the 2015 elections as demanded by his people.
Mr Akpabio hails from Ikot Ekpene senatorial district.
Meanwhile, speaking on a radio programme on issues of the state, Senator Etok, is reported to have declared that “the seat was not vacant.”
He is also reported to have stated that the governor should have consulted with him before going public with his ambition to contest for his current seat in the Senate.
The protesting counsellors while issuing the ultimatum demanded that Senator Etok must issue an “unreserved apology to the governor and the entire people of Ikot Ekpene senatorial district” over the statement.
The Senator was not in the state at the time of the incident but residents of the oil rich state said they are looking forward to how the political crisis will play out between a political god father and his self-confessed anointed political son.
It will be recalled that Mr Akpabio was recently embroiled in an election rigging controversy when he openly confessed that he scratched off the name of another aspirant for Mr Etok to emerge a Senator.
The Governor has since explained that he was ‘misunderstood‘ because the changing of names was done ahead of the party primaries and election during the party leaders talk.

Controversial Pension Fraud Judgement: NJC Says Judge Has Case To Answer

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
The National Judicial Council (NJC) has resolved that Justice Abubakar Talba of the Abuja High Court, who allowed a former Deputy Director in the police pension office, John Yusuf to pay N750.000 fine and walked away free after he was convicted for stealing N1.3 billion, has a case to answer.

Following its resolution the council has set up a committee to further investigate the judge and come up with a detailed report of what actually transpired between Mr Yusuf and Justice Talba.
The committee will also consider whether the judgment given by Justice Talba was appropriate in the circumstance.
The council could however not take any decision on 18 other petitions against judges because the responses of judges to the query issued against them came late.
The council will at its next meeting, billed to hold on 13June consider the committee’s report on Justice Talba.
Similarly, petitions against some appeal court judges were also moved for the next meeting of the council.
The council also agreed that funding of the judiciary should be made a first line charge like the funding of the Independent National Electoral Commission, the National Assembly, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Universal Basic Education Commission.
A former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olisa Agbakoba had filed a suit at the federal high court to make the funding of the judiciary a first line charge in the federation account.
In the suit, he wants the court to declare as unconstitutional, null and void, the continued dependence of the judiciary on the executive arm of government for its budgeting and funds release since it is a violation of sections 81, 84 and 162 of the 1999 constitution.
He also wants the court to declare that by virtue of the constitutional guarantee of the independent fund of the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of 1999 constitution, judiciary’s budget ought to be taken by the National Judicial Council (NJC) straight to the National Assembly for appropriation as against the practice of taking it to the budget office under the presidency.
He also argues that apart from independent budgeting, the funds belonging to the judiciary in the consolidated revenue fund should be released directly to the NJC in whole for disbursement for the needs of the courts as against the practice of release of funds in warrants by the executive arm of government.

Angelique Kidjo wins Songlines Best Artist award

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
African diva Angelique Kidjo was named Best Artist in Songlines magazine’s annual world music awards on Friday, lauded for her high-energy shows and her championing of social causes.
French veterans Lo’jo, who mix French folk with African and Arabic sounds, picked up the Best Group award and the young Zimbabwean band Mokoomba was chosen as top Newcomer.
The Best Cross Cultural-Collaboration went to Dub Colossus for the blend of Ethiopian roots, reggae and dub beats on their latest album “Dub Me Tender Vol. 1+2″.
Kidjo, originally from Benin, is one of Africa’s biggest singing stars. Over the years she has worked with Prince, sang at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and sold out New York’s Carnegie Hall.
The Best Artist award was given for her live “Spirit Rising” album but was also recognition of her career achievements, Songlines editor-in-chief Simon Broughton told Reuters.
“She’s been around a long time but she’s always inspiring,” he said. “What clinched it was a concert she gave in London in March for Women’s Day. It was breathtaking. I’ve never seen her so exuberant. She bonds people and really makes it special.”
Kidjo, 52, has adopted the mantle of the late South African singer Miriam Makeba as a political voice and campaigns for women’s rights and education in Africa.
“The award is also for what she stands for,” Broughton said.
Lo’jo, from southwest France, has also been around a long time and the band’s latest album, “Cinema el Mundo”, showed them to be as strong as ever.
“They are much better known in the Francophone world than elsewhere. They’ve not been tempted to become more mainstream,” Broughton said.
“They are a quality act, an unusual, interesting group, especially in their connections with West and North Africa.”
YOUNG BANDS AND FANS
The Newcomer winner, Mokoomba, is a young group from Zimbabwe but the horn-driven music is pan-African, bringing in the sounds of Congo, South Africa and other countries. Its “Rising Tide” album sealed the award.
Dub Colossus’ award was recognition of its work over the past 10 years in popularizing Ethiopian music and blending it with modern beats.
“It’s risen from being unknown to something hip and really getting an audience. There’s a lot of people fusing Ethiopian and Western sounds so they represent a wide movement and are bringing in a lot of young people,” Broughton said.
World music has had mixed fortunes in the past year.
The live scene was still healthy, with a host of performers filling venues in London and elsewhere, Songlines publisher Paul Geoghegan said.
But the recording scene was very difficult for artists, record labels and distributors due to the closure of record stores and declining CD sales. The collapse of British chain HMV, whose shops stocked a wide variety of world music, was a big blow, he said.

WAJE Is Living Her Dreams

Female songbird Aituaje Iruobe, also known as WAJE has been around for the past half-decade, contributing to the commercial success of artistes like Banky W, M.I and P Square. Banky W’s Thief My Kele, M.I’s One Naira and P Square’s 2009 remake of Omoge Me largely owe their successes to WAJE’s pretty flawless singing ability. Her vocal backing to these songs rendered them the kind of touch a potential hit song requires.

Collapsed Building

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.comTHREE pupils, including a girl, were killed and hundreds injured on Wednesday when a building in which they were writing the West African Examination Council School Certificate examination (WASCE) collapsed on them.
The incident occurred in Alpha Academy, a private secondary school in Mararaba, Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State.

Some 560 candidates were writing the examination in Alpha Academy. Many of them complained of the cracks before the building came down on Wednesday.

Of the 200 injured candidates, 30 are said to be in critical condition at the CRCN Hospital, Takum, where doctors are battling to save their lives.

One of the survivors, Godiya John, 22, who sustained a spinal cord injury, was immediately referred to the National Hospital, Abuja.

Donga council chair Capt. Douglas Ndatse (rtd), who confirmed the incident, described the examination hall as a one-storey building.
He said the examination was taking place upstairs.

Another survivor, simply identified as Ezekiel, said they were waiting for the Biology question paper when the building suddenly came down on them.

Ezekiel, who is seriously injured, said the incident occurred at about 6:48pm, more than three hours behind the time scheduled for the examination.

“The paper was slated for 3:30pm,” Ezekiel said, attributing the delay to officials.
Some 560 candidates are writing the examination in Alpha Academy.

President Goodluck Jonathan silence is a sharp contrast

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com                                                                                                                      More than 48 hours after Nigerian soldiers hunting for Boko Haram insurgents allegedly leveled Baga town in Borno State, killing 185 civilians and wounding several others, President Goodluck Jonathan is yet to comment on the tragedy.
The president’s silence is a sharp contrast with the way his United States counterpart, Barack Obama, acts whenever even a single American is killed.
Immediately news of the Boston bombing, which killed three and injured more than 170 reached him last Monday, President Obama spoke up, condole with the victims and their families, described the incident as an act of terrorism and stressed the determination of the American authorities to bring perpetrators to book.
But there has been no word from the Nigerian government since news of the massacre broke in the local and international press.
Presidential spokespersons, Reuben Abati and Doyin Okupe did not answer or return calls seeking comments on why the president is still quiet about the killings. They also did not respond to text messages sent to them.
The president’s silence has however sparked outrage among some Nigerians.
“A competent and sensible president should have visited Borno immediately to see things for himself,” says Segun Onabanjo, a sociology lecturer at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye. “That he is still holed up there in Aso Rock, keeping mum when his troops are alleged to have extrajudicially killed 185 is an indication of how much this president values the lives of the people he governs.”
Olu Akerele, a chieftain of the opposition Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, said it is sad that Nigerians have no one to look up to for leadership in the face of this kind of tragedy.
“Our expectation is that the president would immediately review the intelligence he received from Borno and then take action to lessen the pains of the people of the town. This president has carried his ineptitude too far,” Mr. Akerele said. “It is an indication that even if all of us are killed, this president just might not care.”
At least 185 persons including women and children were reportedly killed by either gunshots or fire after soldiers of the Joint Task Force tried to hunt down Boko Haram insurgents in the commercial border town of Baga in Borno State, completely burning down the community in the process.
Local government officials who spoke to PREMIUM TIMES said 185 persons died, at least 2000 houses, 64 motorcycles and 40 cars were burnt in the wake of the attack.
The Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, visited the town on Sunday and was told by residents that soldiers were responsible for the torching of houses that led to the death of many.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that scores of others are currently hospitalised with various shades of burnt injuries.
Residents said most casualties especially the aged ones and children died as a result of the conflagration that engulfed the entire town.
Governor Kashim Shettima who visited the town on Sunday became emotionally drenched at the sight of charred houses, vehicles and how homeless residents took refuge in the bushes.
The Commander of the Task Force, Brigadier General Austin Edokpaye, explained that the fire that consumed the town and resultant deaths should be blamed on the Boko Haram terrorists who opened fire on soldiers while hiding in the mix of civilians.
A local trader in Baga told PREMIUM TIMES that the attack started at about 8 p.m on Friday and was continued the next day.
“Only God can understand what we have done to deserve this. But the soldiers were mindless that night in their approach; they killed and burnt our houses, chased everyone into the bush including women and children. So far we have buried 185 corpses. – some were burnt beyond recognition; others are hospitalised with various degrees of burnt,” said the resident who begged to remain anonymous.
Governor Shettima who drove through the burnt town amidst heavy motorcade of security personnel condemned the incident which he said was a ‘nasty occurrence’.
At the town’s hospital, the governor had to commiserate with women, children and aged men receiving treatment for various degrees of burnt caused by the fire.
Bashir Isa, a grocery merchant, told PREMIUM TIMES that “everyone has been in the bush since Friday night; we started returning back to town because the governor came to town today.
“To get food to eat in the town now is a problem because even the markets are burnt. We are still picking corpses of women and children in the bush and creeks.”
Brigadier General Edokpaye denied residents allegations that the shootout was unprovoked.
“We lost an officer during the attack on our men on patrol. We’ve received an intelligence that some suspected Boko Haram members usually pray and hide arms at a particular mosque in town. It was around that mosque that our men were attacked with several of them injured and an officer died.
“When we reinforced and returned to the scene the terrorists came out with heavy firepower including RPGs which usually has a conflagration effect,” the army chief said.
Governor Shettima pleaded with fleeing residents to return back to their burnt homes as a committee has been empannelled to provide a palliative compensation for the loss they suffered. He also called on the commander to “take full charge” of his operation and ensure he personally supervises his field officers from time to time “in order to avert such nasty incidences in the future

Kevin lifted Melissa out of the water

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com

She’s been accused of distracting him from his football career and from these pictures it’s not difficult to see why.
Sports Illustrated model Melisa Satta showed off her enviable figure in Miami yesterday as she frolicked in the ocean with AC Milan boyfriend Kevin-Prince Boateng and he was happy to be the sole focus of her attention.
The couple heated things up in the sunshine as they passionately kissed while taking a dip, oblivious to other holidaymakers. Gorgeous 26-year-old Melissa wore a bright striped bikini which struggled to contain her ample curves and showed off her pert bottom.
A star tattoo on each of her hips and a larger tattoo on her right shoulder were also visible.
Meanwhile Kevin, 25, showcased his impressive collection of body art as he took to the beach in a pair of black shorts. The playful couple appeared to be re-enacting scenes from movie Dirty Dancing at one stage as Kevin lifted Melissa out of the water.
The affectionate pair couldn’t keep their eyes or their hands off each other, kissing and cuddling in the water and later Kevin was spotted playing with Melissa’s bikini bottoms.
Despite becoming an integral part of the AC Milan’s midfield, Boateng missed a number of games during the season due to a succession of minor injury problems.
AC Milan fans have been unhappy with the player and his girlfriend after she claimed in January that his injuries were caused by too much sex.
She told Vanity Fair: ‘The reason why he is always injured is because we have sex seven to ten times a week.
‘I hate foreplay, I want to get straight to the point. My favourite position is on top so I can take control.’
The couple have been dating since October 2011, one month after Kevin’s divorce from the mother of son Jermaine-Prince was finalised.

16 Years-Derek Boateng Was Stabbed To Death On A Bus On His Birthday In London

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
Are we safe? I keep wondering how these young boys live to see the next day on the streets of London… RIP Derek Boateng !
Our hearts go out to his family and loved ones…
And I know that bus (393) so well…Hmmmmm!
MailOnline Reports;
A murder hunt has been launched after a 16-year-old boy who was stabbed on a bus died in hospital.
Derek Boateng was knifed seconds after boarding a 393 bus on Highbury New Park, north London, at around 3pm on Monday.
Police say the boy, who has three older sisters, was attacked following a row with another teenager. It was the fifth stabbing of a teenager in London in the past four days.
The London Air Ambulance landed on Highbury Grove School’s Astro Turf pitch and airlifted the teenager to hospital in east London where he died yesterday.
Today, his devastated sisters paid tribute to the little brother they described as ‘always laughing’ and revealed his birthday presents are still lying unopened at the family home in nearby Hackney.
Derek’s oldest sister Gifty, 29, said he was ‘best brother in the world.
She told the Evening Standard: ‘I could not have had a better brother.’
Earlier, she told how Derek was doing his GCSEs and wanted to be an engineer.
He said: ‘He just fixes stuff, like things you can’t figure out he comes to do.
‘He paints and plays the drums – he was very artistic. He had a lot of friends and knew a lot of people around the area and had friends from primary school still. We are completely devastated and still in shock.’
Another of his siblings, Linda, 25, said: ‘All we know is that he was on a bus by himself. He normally gets the train.
‘From what we know, he was going to meet his friend at Highbury Grove when it happened.
‘He was always laughing, everything was a joke. You can’t even tell him off because he just started laughing at you.
‘He was stabbed on his birthday on the 23rd and died the day after. He was coming home to his presents, he hadn’t even opened them yet.’
She added: ‘You hear about this sort of thing all the time and never think this is going to come to you.
‘Knives are for the kitchen. Put the knives away, just concentrate on your education. They have left the family very devastated.
‘I don’t think they understand what they are doing. The guy who did it is probably really scared because they don’t understand what they have done.
‘It’s ridiculous. Killing someone and going back to your group doesn’t make you cool.’
More than 2,000 people have paid tribute on Facebook to a murdered teenager who died the day after being stabbed on his sixteenth birthday.
Derek Boateng, who wanted to be an engineer, was fatally stabbed on a 393 bus on Tuesday afternoon. He died in hospital last night.

Primark Factory Collapses In Bangladesh, Killing Over 160 Pple

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
The UK Sun Reports;
AT least 160 people were killed yesterday after a factory that makes clothes for Primark collapsed.
More than a thousand were hurt when the eight-storey building crumbled to the ground in Bangladesh.
Its feared the death toll will rise because 2,000 people were inside the Ranza Plaza building on the outskirts of the capital Dhaka at the time.
Children could be among them because the firm runs creches for women workers on three of the floors.
Some of the garments made at the factory are sold in budget clothes favourite Primark’s stores across the UK.
The factory also supplied Matalan up until February.
Firemen and soldiers were last night scouring the rubble for survivors.
Rescuers could hear cries for help from workers trapped still inside.
A day of mourning has been declared today by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Building collapses are common in Bangladesh because many are built flouting regulations.
Cracks were first spotted on Tuesday and cops ordered for it to be evacuated.
But employees turned up work on Wednesday before being engulfed by tumbling masonry.
Survivor Shaheena Akhter, 23, said: “Some of us did not want to work fearing something might happen.
“But the garment factory people told us that we had to join our work otherwise we will lose our jobs.”
A Primark spokesman said: “The company is shocked and deeply saddened by this appalling incident at Savar, near Dhaka, and expresses its condolences to all of those involved.
“Primark confirms that one of its suppliers occupied the second floor of the eight storey building, which housed several suppliers to the garment industry making clothing for a number of brands.”
He added: “Primark has been engaged for several years with NGOs and other retailers to review the Bangladeshi industry’s approach to factory standards. Primark will push for this review to also include building integrity.
“Meanwhile Primark’s ethical trade team is at this moment working to collect information, assess which communities the workers come from, and to provide support where possible.”
A spokesman for Matalan said one of the companies based their supply to them.
He said: “We can confirm that New Wave has been a supplier to Matalan although we don’t have any current production with them.
“We are deeply saddened by the news and we have been trying to get in touch with our contacts since we heard to check if we are able to assist.”
A blaze at a garment factory in another Dhaka suburb killed some 110 people last November – and sparked a massive public outcry over lax safety standards.
It led many Western clothing firms whose garments are made in Bangladesh to urge local factory owners to improve working conditions.
At least 25 people lost their lives in 2010 when a four-storey building in the city fell down, with many more left injured.

You Are Broke Because You Are Making MONEY For Others

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
Have you ever considered how the few rich people you know became what they are today? What you have to know is this; they did not make all the money themselves. In fact, they did not even make the great proportion of the money themselves, people like you and I made the money for them.
We live in a money driven world and as such, every activity under the sun carried by another human being generates income for someone.
This sounds great if you are at the receiving end. And it sucks if you are the one buried in those activities that continue to make cash for others…
Majority of us are broke, because we continue to make money for others whiles no one makes any money for us. You cannot run away from making money for others in this world…NEVER! What you can do is to neutralize things by making others to also make money for you.
Do you that Facebook has an estimated worth of over 100 billion dollars and in 2011, made $550 million in payment revenue alone?
Where do you think Facebook is making all this money from? The users of facebook including you and I are the ones making Facebook this money. If we all deactivate our accounts today and stop visiting, Facebook will make zero and it will be worth zero.
So the more time you spend on Facebook, the more money you make for Mark Zuckerberg and his cronies.
I am not trying to tell you to stop visiting Facebook…How dare I? I am just pointing out to you how we continue to make millions for others with our daily activities.
Have you ever considered making others make money for you too? If you have not considered that, then you have to do that today because that is the only way you can jump from being broke to being RICH…
The owner of the company you work for is rich because you and the other workers continue to make him money. He then gives you a tiny fraction of the money to say; thank you for all the bucks you have made for me. That sucks but that is the fact!
Once again, you cannot run away from making money for others. What you can rightly do is to make sure that whiles you are making money for someone; others should also make some cash for you.
Do you know that the moment you turn on your TV to watch-entertain yourself, you begin to make money for the cable or broadcasting company?
Even as you read this, you are making me some money. It may suck but it is true. By simply reading this article, you have made me some few coins and if a lot of people read it, it piles up to become a lot.
This is one of the many ways I have decided to balance things so that I do only make money for others, which will make me forever, broke. But I can also get people like you to make me some CASH…

What Is Wrong With This Pic

Health And Lifestye

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
Life is full of choices and every choice has a corresponding consequence. This applies also to our health. Our health today was determined by the choices or decisions we made yesterday and consequently our health tomorrow would be as a result of the choices we make today.
Daily choices as regard certain widely recognized factors that are essential to a longer, healthier life would result in the health we do or do not enjoy.
This fact is clearly illustrated in the scenario below;
A 17-year old young man went to his ophthalmologist with what he considered a serious health problem. He said, “every time I smoked marijuana, my eyes got red. I’m really worried. What can you prescribe for my condition?” His doctor told him to stop smoking marijuana but he answered ‘Anything but that’, then turned and walked away.
This young man’s behaviour epitomizes the conscious and unconscious attitude of millions of people towards their health: they want to have clear lungs and fresh breathe but are unwilling to quit smoking, they want to have functionally healthy livers with no cirrhosis but continue to drink alcohol, they want to have a good heart devoid of plagues from cholesterol deposition but refuse to quit eating fresh meats and eating habits which stop the heart before its time, they want to have great bodies and attractive figures with well-built muscles but are not ready to make the much needed time to engage in regular physical exercise.
In short they want to enjoy good health but are not willing to pay the price for the lifestyle that would bring them closer to realizing these worthy goals.
Health is not a coincidence or chance. It is a product of the little decisions or choices we make every day in our lives. This implies that for us to enjoy optimum health, we must be mindful of the choices we make in our daily routine activities.
Simple choices as to what to eat, when to eat, how to eat, when to sleep, when to rest, whether or not to exercise, to drink alcohol or water, to think positively or negatively in the long run determine our health status in most cases. This impact might not be immediate but it is just a matter of time.
Consciously or unconsciously, most people are making sacrifices of some sort. Unfortunately, they often sacrifice health, family, religion or other priceless possessions in order to gain the transitory pleasures of wealth, power, status, or fame.
Most choices are made due to the ignorance of their consequences or apathy to the known consequences of such choices. To enjoy vibrant health we need to consciously make concerted efforts to choose those things that have been proven through science and experience to enhance health.
Hippocrates the father of medicine made this famous comment “let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food” thus giving credence to the fact that the food we eat has an immense influence on our health.
The relationship between lifestyle choices and health has occupied human minds and been debated for years on both the international and local scenes.
The World Health Organisation in its Alma-Ata Declaration on primary health care as a strategy to achieve Health for All by the year 2000 pointed out, the importance of being responsible for oneself through choices and community participation in promoting health. In the same context, the Lalonde Report, which came out of Canada in 1974, already held that lifestyle and environmental conditions are more significant to the health of individuals than medical care.
In the same vein, the Ministry of Health of the republic of Ghana, under the leadership of the late Major Courage Quashigah introduced the Regenerative Health and Nutrition programme to encourage Ghanaians to make a paradigm shift from curative medicine to preventive or lifestyle medicine to check the tide of non-communicable diseases(NCDs) also called ‘diseases of choice’.
In conclusion, it is obvious from this article that our lifestyle choices surely lead to the state of our health. In other words healthy lifestyle choices would lead to good health whiles poor lifestyle choices would ultimately culminate into poor health. In the subsequent weekly articles, we would examine the various lifestyle choices and their attendant consequences in terms of health and longevity.

Why i Married Annie Secretly

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
When the entertainment circle was abuzz with the news that star singer, TuFace Idibia, was getting married to actress Annie Macaulay, many people expected to witness the ceremony live.

But the love birds literally pulled the carpet off the feet of such ambitious fans when they tied the nuptial knots in a very private ceremony somewhere in Lagos on Feb. 14, 2012. Many tongues haven’t stopped wagging ever since that ‘surprise package.’

An unperturbed TuFace recently explained why the wedding was kept a secret. In a meeting with LIF&BEAT , he said, “Annie is my first and true love. I had known her before I met the other women in my life. As a Christian, I had to marry one woman and it just had to be Annie.

“We had a secret wedding after we had reached an agreement and amicable understanding about the mothers of my children. It was a tough decision to make, one of the toughest in my life.

“I secretly married her because I have so much respect for my other babies’ mothers; I cannot afford to hurt their feelings with a sudden society wedding with Annie, not now. I chose herabove the others because she has been through it all with me.”

On Nov. 14, Annie marked her birthday and she was treated to a surprise soiree at Rumours Nightclub in Ikeja, G.R.A.

As if that was not enough, TuFace seized the opportunity to shower his ‘African Queen’ with expensive gifts that included a brand new car and glittering diamond jewellery.

Adediwura Adesegha say my Boobs Are getting me into Problems

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
Adediwura Adesegha is a beautiful actress who stands tall among the rising movie stars who are being tipped to take over from the established acts. In a recent chat, she speaks on the many troubles her bĂłobs and shape have caused her with men and other personal issues. Below is a brief excerpts:
Is there any part of your body you that men can’t resist?
We have the physical aspect and the spiritual and other aspects that surround that question. When we talk about physical attributes, it has to do with my shape, it has to do with whatever you think you can flaunt. For example, at a nightclub where you are expected to dress in a manner that portrays a club girl, in that case, I think I have something I should be able to flaunt. I have got bĂłobs (laughs). On a serious note, it has to do with your educational background. You have to be educated. The way the world is going now, you must be talented and outspoken. You must be an extrovert and must be able to face challenges. I think I have a sound educational background and so too are my physical attributes. So, I am well packaged.
You must be having it tough with men because of your shape and boĂłbs. How do you handle that?
My boĂłbs and shape do get me attracted to men just like it happens to every other lady that have got it but I think I have been able to handle it well. Besides, it is really no big deal to get advances from men because it’s like a daily routine, but its left to you as a lady to be responsible and respect yourself.
When would you get married?
Having a man to oneself is another job entirely. You have to search, open your eyes and pray. Its not something you just say ‘okay, I love him’, while what you have for him is not real. Some will be in love at the beginning but later, as the year rolls by, the love goes off. As regards when I will marry, I will keep you posted. How often do you have sĂ©x

Omawumi expo**** BOO**

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
In a male dominated industry like the Nigerian music industry, first runner-up at the Idol West Africa, Omawumi Megbele, has proven to be a force to be reckoned with.
Some music critics in Nigeria have likened her to the legendary Onyeka Onwenu, who the singer did a duet with recently.
When it comes to dressing, Omawumi mostly rocks short gown which barely covers the whole of her thighs and at some instances, the shoulder region of her body is always exposed. This sometimes revealed her tìts. While some believe she does that intentional to stir controversies, others believe Omawumi is only proud being a woman, which she attests to in a recent interview.
Answering a question on why her tìts popped out at an event, the Delta State-born singer revealed that, “because I have small shoulders and my tìts are actually beautiful, I tend to wear revealing upper body dresses.”
She added that, “when you are looking at the mirror, you are not well as tall as to see how troublesome it could be. That dress has feathers in the front of it and before I left my hotel room, I asked someone if the dress was okay and she said yes.”
Continuing, Omawumi stressed that, “so, I wore the dress to the show and when I was performing at the show, of course, paparazzi took my pictures and released them. I realized that my tìts were practically pouring out of my dress, there was no way I could have put my tìts back.”

25-year-old deejay shot in lagos

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
The residents of Bank Olemoh Street, Surulere, Lagos, were terrified on Monday when two gunmen shot dead Olamide George, a 25-year-old deejay.
According to eyewitnesses, the assassination was carried out at about 2pm while George was with friends under a tree, popularly known as Abe Igi.
It was learnt that just before his murder, George reportedly answered a phone call, and the caller requested to know where he was. George answered that he was at Abe Igi.
George’s father, Mr. Gbolahan George, said, “I was told that the assassins were four and were in Keke Maruwa (tricycle). They parked at the entrance of the street; two got down and walked to where Olamide was sitting with his friends. The one with the gun did not know him, so the other person who accompanied him pointed at Olamide.
“Immediately Olamide was identified, he was shot in the head and the chest.”
“I was called around 2:30pm and was told that my son’s body was at the morgue in Lagos University Teaching Hospital. He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. I reported the case at Area C Police Command.”
Gbolahan George said his son was not of a dubious character.
“He is a DJ, and not a scammer. And he is very gentle and pleasant. He wanted to write JAMB and get into Lagos State University.
“Olamide was also about to wed his girlfriend, Yetunde Adeyeri, who is five months pregnant before his untimely death. And that was why I gave him N500,000 to rent a one-room self-contained apartment at Apapa Road.”
Our correspondent saw family members cleaning blood stains from Olamide’s Golf Volkswagen car with number plate, LND 879 AG.
The Chairman of CDA, Bank Olemoh Street, Mr. Wilson Ojei, said, “I know Lamide as an easy young man trying to survive. Nobody had any complaints about him except for the occasional youthful exuberance, which is common among other young men in the community. From indications, the attack was not from within the community; the assassins were outsiders.
“We have been instructed by the police to cut the tree at Abe Igi.”
The police spokesperson, Lagos State, Ms. Ngozi Braide confirmed the incident. She said, “The case was reported to Area C Police Command. We are investigating the killing and I can assure you that reasonable arrest has been made

Here are a few ways to put an end to that Snoring

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
Snoring can make everyone in a home miserable. Here are a few ways to put an end to that embarrassing noise:
1. Change Your Sleep Position.
Lying on your back makes the base of your tongue and soft palate collapse to the back wall of your throat, causing a vibrating sound during sleep. Sleeping on your side may help prevent this.
2. Lose Weight.
If you’ve gained weight and started snoring and did not snore before you gained weight, weight loss may help. If you gain weight around your neck, it squeezes the internal diameter of the throat, making it more likely to collapse during sleep, triggering snoring.
3. Avoid Alcohol.
Alcohol and sedatives reduce the resting tone of the muscles in the back of your throat, making it more likely you’ll snore. Drinking alcohol four to five hours before sleeping makes snoring worse. People who don’t normally snore will snore after drinking alcohol.
4. Practice Good Sleep Hygiene.
Poor sleep habits (also known as poor sleep “hygiene”) can have an effect similar to that of drinking alcohol. Working long hours without enough sleep, for example, means when you finally get into bed, you’re overtired. “You sleep hard and deep, and the muscles become too relaxed which creates snoring.
5. Open Nasal Passages.
If snoring starts in your nose, keeping nasal passages open may help. It allows air to move through slower. If your nose is clogged or narrowed due to a cold or other blockage, the fast-moving air is more likely to produce snoring. A hot shower before you go to bed can help open nasal passages,
6. Change Your Pillows.
Allergens in your bedroom and in your pillow may contribute to snoring. When did you last dust the overhead ceiling fan? Replace your pillows. Dust mites accumulate in pillows and can cause allergic reactions that can lead to snoring. If your nose feels fine during the day but obstructed at night, these things may be contributing to your snoring.
7. Stay Well Hydrated.
Drink plenty of fluids. Secretions in your nose and soft palate become stickier when you’re dehydrated. This can create more snoring. According to research, healthy women should have about 11 cups of total water (from all drinks and food) a day; men require about 16 cups.
Overall, get enough sleep, sleep on your side, avoid alcohol before bedtime and take a hot shower if nasal passages are clogged. These simple practices can make a huge difference in reducing snoring

The Danger Of Using Your Right Ear To Call Or Receive Gsm calls

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
Recent studies show that radiation from cell phones can damage brain cells in the long run.

When you make or receive calls on your mobile phone, always use your LEFT EAR alone, try to avoid using the RIGHT EAR, as that makes your brain more prone to mobile radiation.

How can a man marry a fellow man second GAY wed

cynthiaokpala.blogspot.com
It was love at first Skype for Francistown business manager Marc Omphemetse Themba and Ricardo Raymond Amunjera popularly known as Mr Gay Namibia.

Same-sex marriages are not yet legal in the couples home countries so the love-birds travelled to Johannesburg last week to tie the knot in a civil ceremony.

On Saturday they will celebrate their nuptials and Ricardos 30th birthday with a glittering reception at Windhoeks Hilton Hotel.

The relationship began as a cyber-romance last year. Marc saw Ricardos photograph on a friends Facebook page and decided to contact him.

But Ricardo ignored his messages for two months, dismissing him as just another crazy person. Marc wasnt deterred. Eventually his persistence led to a whirlwind Skype romance.

I could hear that he was humble and genuine. I just wanted him to keep on talking, says Ricardo.

Soon, the couple was spending three hours a day on the phone. When Ricardo decided to take the plunge and visit Botswana, Marc was thrilled and a little apprehensive.

He laughs as he describes rushing past Ricardo at the airport so he could take refuge in the bathroom.
In the end it turned out to be simple.

Ricardo is the first meaningful relationship of my life. Hes a beautiful shy person. He sometimes comes across as fierce, but hes a sweetie, says Marc.

Marc has never hidden his sexuality. He and his two siblings lost their parents long back, and were raised by Dithapelo Sibona a family friend. Marc says he is humbled by the way she welcomed the news of his marriage, because you dont necessarily expect someone of her generation to be so open.

Ma Sibona told The Voice that she regards Marc as her own child. She wasnt surprised when she heard about his sexuality.

That is how God created him, so people out there should accept him the way he is, she said.

For Marc, marriage means moving to Namibia. He doesnt want to leave Botswana, but he cant wait to build a life with his new husband. Ricardo is a geological supervisor at Langer Heinrich Uranium mine, so it would be harder for him to relocate. Both men feel that the future for gay people is looking brighter in their countries.

Attitudes are slowing changing. Maybe one day the law will too, says Marc.

Ricardo uses social media to transform negative thinking. People are afraid of the unknown. But when we connect on Facebook we respond to each other as individuals, he explains.

Meanwhile this weekend is party time, and about 70 of Marcs closest friends and relatives will travel to Windhoek to help him celebrate. Vows will be exchanged, but they wont be scripted. Marc will just look into Ricardos eyes and speak from the heart.

I think its going to be a lovely reception, said Francistown-based Amo Bogacu.

In Botswana, gay couples are not always true to themselves.
Because of our culture, its hard for them to take the risk of losing everything, maybe even their families, for the sake of just one special person.
For Ricardo, Marc is that person. When Im with him I want to be the best I can be, says Mr Gay Namibia.
